Students at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport can spend part of their studies at a host university abroad through the Erasmus+ programme.

Erasmus+ study mobility is available to students at Charles University who are enrolled in an accrtedited bachelor's, master's or doctoral study program, whether full-time or part-time. At the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, students can generally participate in study mobility from the second year of their bachelor's studies.

A study mobility can last from 2 to 12, with a maximum of 12 months during each study cycle.

Participating students receive an Erasmus+ grant to help cover travel and living expenses. The amount depends on the destination country and the current Erasmus+ programme rules. The grant is a contribution towards the costs of the stay and may not cover all expenses.

1. Check the list of Erasmus+ partner universities.
2. Submit an application during the faculty selection procedure.
3. Complete the required nomination and Learning Agreement.
4. Obtain approval from your study programme and Faculty Erasmus+ coordinator.
5. Prepare for your stay abroad.

Students must:

• complete a Learning Agreement
• arrange appropriate insurance
• fulfil all requirements specified by the host university
• make arrangements for the recognition of completed courses after returning to the Faculty

Students are required to:

• submit all required Erasmus+ documents
• provide confirmation of their study period
• submit their Transcript of Records
• complete the EU survey, if required

If you are enrolled in an English-taught degree programme at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, your tuition fee remains payable during an Erasmus+ study stay abroad. Going abroad through Erasmus+ does not interrupt your studies at Charles University, and you remain enrolled in your degree programme at the Faculty throughout your mobility.

Short-term Ph.D. mobility gives doctoral students the opportunity to undertakea short physical study or traineeship abroad as part of  their doctoral studies. The mobility can last from 5 to 30 days. A study stay may involve research related to the student’s dissertation, while a traineeship involves work for the host institution. This type of mobility can also be used to fulfil the requirement for international experience included in an individual study plan.

The selection procedure and application deadlines are determined by the Faculty. Students should follow the Faculty's Erasmus+ information and contact the Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator for current application requirements. The administrative process following selection is similar to that for other Erasmus+ mobilities. An Erasmus+ traineeship abroad gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience in their field, develop professional skills and build international contacts. A traineeship can take place at a university, department or laboratory, as well as at an organisation, sports club or other suitable institution. Erasmus+ traineeships are available to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students. A traineeship can take place at any time of the year, including during the summer holidays, provided that students can fulfil their study obligations. Traineeships last 2–12 months. At the Faculty, traineeships of up to six months are generally supported. Students are responsible for finding a suitable host organisation that agrees to provide the traineeship. The content of the traineeship must be relevant to the student's study programme and cannot consist of writing a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral thesis.

The application process for Erasmus+ traineeships is more flexible than the process for study mobility. Selection dates may vary according to the Faculty's arrangements and the specific traineeship opportunity. Students should apply well in advance. The Faculty currently recommends submitting an application at least two months before the planned start of the traineeship.

To apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship, students should submit:

• Application for Erasmus+ traineeship – the appropriate form for bachelor's/master's or doctoral students HERE
• Letter of invitation/acceptance from the host organisation, including its name and address, the dates of the traineeship, and the name and contact details of the person responsible for the traineeship
• Motivation letter in English (maximum one A4 page)
• Proof of language proficiency at B2 level or higher – required for bachelor's and master's students

Application documents should be submitted to the Faculty's International Office according to the current Faculty instructions.

After submitting the documents for the Faculty selection procedure, students create an Erasmus+ traineeship application in the Charles University Web Applications for the relevant academic year and selected host organisation. The application includes the planned content and specific details of the traineeship. Students then complete a Learning Agreement for Traineeship, which must correspond to their study programme and be approved by the student, the Faculty and the host organisation.

After selection, students must complete the required Erasmus+ administrative steps, including:

• finalising and signing the Learning Agreement for Traineeship
• obtaining confirmation of the traineeship from the host organisation
• arranging appropriate insurance
• completing the Erasmus+ Participant Agreement before departure

The Erasmus+ scholarship is calculated based on the confirmed dates of the traineeship.

combine a short period of physical mobility abroad with a virtual component. They offer students the opportunity to take part in an intensive programme organised by a foreign university, meet students and teachers from other countries, and gain international experience in a short period of time. A BIP lasts 5–30 days and is open to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students. The physical part of the programme takes place abroad and is combined with online activities before, during or after the physical mobility.

BIP opportunities are announced by individual departments and study programmes. To take part:

1. Check the available BIPs announced by your department.
2. Express your interest by contacting the relevant teacher or BIP coordinator.
3. Take part in the selection process organised by the department.
4. Once selected, follow the instructions from the Faculty Erasmus+ coordinator to complete the required administrative steps.

• complete the online application in Charles University Web Applications
• complete a Learning Agreement
• have the Learning Agreement approved and signed by all required parties
• sign the Erasmus+ Participant Agreement arranged by the European Office of the Rector's Office

Once the participation of the selected students has been confirmed, their BIP mobility will be registered in SIS.

After the BIP At the end of the physical part of the BIP, students receive confirmation of their Erasmus+ mobility from the host institution. Students who successfully complete the BIP receive at least 3 ECTS credits, except doctoral students, for whom the 3-credit requirement does not apply.

Students participating in a BIP may receive Erasmus+ financial support for the physical mobility, including a contribution towards travel and living expenses. The amount depends on the destination and the current Erasmus+ funding rules.
