Diversity

Equality and justice are values that Charles University clearly upholds and considers key principles of academic life. It is important that all students, as well as staff members, feel welcomed and safe at the University, while also ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to successfully complete their studies or achieve their career goals.

We consider any tolerance of unequal treatment as a starting point that we want to go beyond, we want to go beyond the mere foundation of equal rights - we want to strive to create a warm, caring, inclusive environment, to build trust in the institution, in its mechanisms and ethical principles that should accommodate all those who may find themselves in a vulnerable or disadvantaged position.

The Equal Opportunities Plan of Charles University 2025-2027 contains 9 areas defined by strategic goals towards which the CU wants to work.

Diversity at FPE&S CU

As part of Charles University's broader institutional commitment to gender equality, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FPE&S CU) proceeded to develop its own Equal Opportunities Plan (EOP), tailored to the specific needs and realities of a sport-focused academic environment. This initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to transform university-wide strategic goals into meaningful and contextually sensitive actions that are relevant to the culture of the Faculty, its disciplines and the community.

In accordance with the mission, vision and values of FPE&S CU - based on excellence, inclusion, accountability and respect - the GEP supports our strategic goal of creating a fair, equitable and high-performing academic and professional environment. As a faculty dedicated to promoting health, human development and lifelong physical activity, we see gender equality not only as a matter of rights and equity, but also as a necessary condition for the quality of our teaching and research.
