CharlesUniversity in Prague, one of the oldest universities in the world, provides an outdoor course named Outdoor Adventure Education & Czech Culture. The course, which takes 5 days, is organized by the Department of Turistika, Outdoor Sports and Outdoor Education based on Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. The course offers elaborate program combining a traditional Czech creative approach to outdoor sports and activities, providing adventure, extraordinary experience and challenge, with he Czech tradition (Czech habits, folk dances and cuisine) and visiting fascinating cultural and historical places, sights and monuments. The course takes place in the FacultyOutdoorCenter (close to Stráž nad Nežárkou) located in beautiful natural environment of Southern Bohemia in biospherical reservation called Třeboňsko, a region included in the UNESCO list.
Through outdoor activities (cycling, orienteering, initiative games, rope and obstacle courses, drama, environmental education etc.), the participants are given an opportunity to get acquainted with nature, their colleagues and themselves in new and challenging situations. The whole course program is framed up in features and elements of Czech culture, so that the University students obtained the basic knowledge of Czech culture in an exciting and unforgettable way.

The minimum of participants is 12. If I won´t have enought students I can not run the course. Deadline is on Wednesday 6 of October 2010.

The course starts in Prague 18/10/2010 at 9.00 a.m. We meet at:
Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University (UK FTVS), José Martího 31, Prague.
From Prague we will travel together by bus to Straz - 2 hours to the Outdoor Center where the course will be held.
